Altus High School ACT Testing Day and Virtual Learning Day on
April 1, 2026
Altus High School will hold the required statewide ACT test for all 11th-grade students on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Beginning in early 2026, Oklahoma will allow greater flexibility in how schools administer the ACT. To take advantage of this opportunity and support student success, Altus High School will implement a special teacher- led schedule on April 1.
All 9th, 10th, and 12th-grade students will have a virtual learning day. These students will receive assignments from their classroom teachers to complete at home. Although they will not report to Altus High School that day, students who attend Southwest Technology Center or Western Oklahoma State College classes should still attend those courses as scheduled.
All 11th-grade students will report to Altus High School as usual to take the ACT. Juniors will be placed in testing rooms with no more than 15 students to provide a quieter and more focused testing environment.
Altus High School will be closed to all students except those taking the ACT on April 1.
School leaders believe this approach will create smaller testing groups and fewer interruptions, helping students perform at their best during this important assessment.
