VEX ROBOTICS

SPONSOR:  Mrs. Michelle McKenzie

Altus High School Robotics Club was established in January of 2018 and competed for two seasons in Botball.  During the 2019-2020 season, the team switched to the Vex Robotic Competition format and competed against many Oklahoma teams and a team from California.  Several of the AHS teams placed during the different competitions and one team captured the Award of Excellence at the Yukon competition.

In the competitions, students are given a challenge, and must design, build, program, and drive a robot to complete the challenge while being partnered with a random team.  Each team is made up of 4 to 5 members and last year the AHS club had 6 teams.  The club elects officers and meets weekly after school.   Mrs. Michelle McKenzie also teaches an optional robotics class for elective credit.
