School Lunch and Breakfast Program Information
Amanda Davis

The USDA requires all participating schools to return to normal operations under the National School Lunch & Breakfast Program for 2022-23.   Altus Public Schools will continue to provide nutritious meals across the district for all enrolled students.  Meal eligibility will be determined as follows:

(1) Student meal eligibility for those attending Altus High School and Rivers Elementary School will be based on the USDA Free & Reduced Meal Application assessment during the 2022-23 school year.

(2) Student meal eligibility for those attending one of our 5 schools approved as a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) site (Altus Early Childhood, Altus Primary, Altus Elementary, Altus Intermediate, and Altus Junior High), will continue to receive free breakfast & free lunch during the 2022-23 school year.

We encourage all families attending Altus High School and Rivers Elementary School to fill out a Free & Reduced Meal Application as soon as possible to determine if qualified for free or reduced-price meals at school. These applications are available at your school.  Children experiencing homelessness, children in foster care, runaway youth, or children of migrant workers all qualify for free school meals when their household fills out an application. Children can also qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on household income.

Our district will continue to support our community children and provide healthy meals in the coming school year.
